Why did I have this hard life? Why did I have to go through so much spiritual and emotional pain? Why did I have such a rough childhood? Why did I have to battle anxiety, depression, and addiction? Why do I have to try so hard to move one step forward, but everything I touch seems to turn to dust and ruins? Why can’t I seem to catch a break? Why me?
In John chapter 9, it says: “1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” After saying this, Jesus healed the man who was born blind.
So now, the question that begs to be asked is, why not you? Who do you suggest? Who can better express what you have to say and do? What are you “hiding” inside that if you expressed it, the world would be a better place? A painting, a song, a book?
According to the definition, frustration is the feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something. Therefore, feeling frustrated is reserved for the people who God chose to do something meaningful in the world. All those people around you that seem to go thru life dancing never feel frustrated. They have nothing to teach us, nothing to show us, nothing to impress or move us with. But you do, and you know it. It screams from inside of you. From the depth of your being, you can not make it stop even do you have tried.
So now you ask me, what shall I do? But I’m not going to answer you. So instead, I will let the apostle Matthew tell you a short story.
Matthew 6, 25 – 34: “25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you, by being anxious, can add a single hour to his life span? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Personal development is like a bicycle with no chain without building a beautiful and strong relationship with God. So you keep pedaling and putting in the effort but are not going anywhere, which is frustrating.
Enough is enough. Put God first in everything you do. Start talking to Him daily because He is happy to hear your voice and will be the chain to your bicycle. And not only that, but He will give you the power to pedal stronger than you can imagine. This will be the end of your frustration and the beginning of a life filled with purpose and joy.
He is the center and most important piece of your life puzzle, and you can not do anything meaningful without Him. Trust me, and you will thank me later.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
