An interesting way to view life, progress, and success is from a numbers perspective.
Let’s say you are at one because as long as you are alive, you are never at zero, which means that as long as you are alive, you are already winning.
Let’s say you are at one and want to get to 100.
Imagine a stairway. Each step has a number attached to it. One, 2, 3, 4, and so on until you reach 100 at the top. 100 represents the maximum that you could be in any endeavor you decide to pursue.
As you start to climb, you must understand that time should not be a factor because life is about the experience and not necessarily about external achievements or possessions.
A good, natural, and healthy climb on that stairway means touching every step. Every step untouched will be revisited at one point in your life. If you reach 87 but jump 9, life will make you revisit nine straight from 87.
Each time you take a new step, some of your habits, friends, or maybe even family members will be left behind. And that happens because everything in this universe has a price, but you get to keep the experiences and the lessons from those experiences.
After climbing on a new step, you will feel a high. Higher ground offers a new perspective. After the high of climbing, you will hit a low. The low is the consolidation phase of the new step. You are in a new place with a fresh perspective, feeling insecure and awkward. That is why you feel the low and you need the consolidation.
So imagine the stairway 1 to 100, and now imagine the climbing process.
You are at the first step. Pay the price, and climb to the second step. New step high, consolidation low. Pay the price, and climb to the third step. New step high, consolidation low.
And so on.
Be patient with yourself, and don’t jump steps.
And that, my friend, is a way to view life and the road to success.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
