No one from the outside world manipulates you.
Yes, everybody and everything from social media, television to the people in your life are after your attention.
Whatever gets your attention also gets your time. But nothing and no one manipulates you. You manipulate yourself with the content you consume and the people you spend time with.
It is time to take back your power.
When you say that someone or something from outside of yourself manipulates you, you give your power to that thing or person.
Take your power back.
If you think the TV manipulates you thru fake news, turn it off. Manipulation over.
If you think social media is manipulating you, turn your phone off. Manipulation over.
If you say that the people around you, family or friends, manipulate you into doing what you don’t want, say no, and stop spending time with them.
Keep the TV turned off and pick up a book. Read something positive, inspirational, or motivational. Ayn Rand is one of my favorite writers, just to give you an example. Check her out. You might fall in love with her books.
Tailor your social media accounts so you get suggestions and posts that fit your vision of yourself. Do that, and every social media time will become inspirational and uplifting.
Develop a vision of yourself for yourself.
Your parents have one, your friends have one, and the lady at the store has one.
They all have a vision of you. But you, what is your image of yourself? Who and what are you? Start here, right where you are, and then ask yourself who and what you want to become. What do you want to express? How would you like us to see you?
“If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.” – Seneca
Who are you?
Who do you want to become?
Why?
Where are you, and where are you sailing?
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
