Exposure to information is not progress.
Information is power, and we are blessed to live in an era where we have all the information we want at the top of our fingertips.
But exposure to information is not progress.
It is very easy to get stuck on the hamster wheel of consuming new information daily, but you need to digest the new information you acquire to understand it.
And if you do not understand the information you acquire, you won’t change your behavior.
So how do we do that?
We do that by applying what we know and checking the results we get from using the new information we acquired.
Acquire new information -> Apply new information -> Analyze the results you get from applying the new information -> Decide based on the results you get if you want to continue to use the new information and the way you want to use it to get the results you want -> With repetition comes new behavior -> With new behaviors come new and improved results -> With new and improved results comes a new and improved quality of life.
After you go through this process, you can start from the top by acquiring new information.
Exposure to information is not progress.
Exposure to information without going through the process I described earlier is just another way to waste your time and energy.
Another way to give yourself permission to cry and complain aloud to everyone that you are unlucky because you are doing so much and accomplishing nothing.
Remember Albert Einstein’s quote:
‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ‘
Get off the hamster wheel and apply what you have learned up to this point before you learn something new.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
