I am sure you have used a satellite navigation or satnav system before and know what it does. However, you may not know that a satnav needs three things to work correctly.
The first thing it needs is a stable GPS connection. The GPS signal is a broadcast that comes from Global Positioning System satellites, and with it, your satnav can determine location, time, and velocity. If your satnav has no GPS connection, you are a sitting duck.
After you ensure your GPS connection is solid, your current location is the second thing you need. You can only tell your satnav where to take you once you tell it where you are. Now, you can give it your destination and ask it to calculate the best route. And it will. It will notify you when you are speeding, where you can refuel, nap if you are tired, and much more. You got to love those things. They are great.
Now, I want you, the real you, to imagine that your mind and body are the best satnav system ever created. I’m sure I don’t have to explain that you are a spiritual being because I know you don’t identify with your mind and body. So the first thing you need to give this state-of-the-art satnav unit is a strong and stable GPS connection.
God is the only authentic, strong, and accurate source of signal and direction, for us, in this universe. You may try and connect to anything and everything in this world, but no matter how far you get, you will still feel and be empty. So start today to connect to the actual source. Start where you are with what you have, and create a daily habit where you connect with Him with respect, love, and gratitude. Remember, your satnav only works when it is connected.
After you make sure you are connected daily, you need to find out and accept where you are. I don’t know if you are familiar with the stages of grief; if you are not, looking into the subject might be helpful. The last stage of grief is acceptance; if you are not in that stage, you are somehow fighting reality. What caused your suffering is less important. What’s important is that you accept whatever happened in the past and move on. I know it’s not easy, but if you don’t do it, your satnav will not be able to take you where you need and want to go.
You have a stable connection, and finally, with some work and much help from God, you managed to accept where you are.
The fun part begins!
It is time to give your satnav some work and put in some new destinations. Start small to see how good it works and how much fun it is. For example, your first destination could be cleaning your room or house and making your bed every morning because it is always lovely to come home to a clean house and a nicely made bed, no matter how your day was. The next destination could be walking every day for half an hour.
Reading every day is also something to consider. You can also start a journal. Reading and writing increase your ability to communicate and make you a better partner, parent, worker, and student.
Start small and build from there; in no time, you will find yourself full of purpose and truly happy.
But remember to stay connected to the GPS signal because your satnav will not work correctly without it!
I wish you all the best and hope you have fun with your new “gadget”.
Yours truly, Cristian.
