I need to start this post by telling you that I am not a doctor of any kind, and if your symptoms are severe, you should muster up the courage and seek professional help.
I share my experience and the helpful little life hacks I picked up so you can try what you want and keep what you find helpful.
Anxiety.
According to the definition, anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. For example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam or having a medical test or job interview.
From my experience, anxiety is the fear of the future. So your mind focuses on ‘tomorrow,’ and it is hard for you to concentrate on the present moment.
Depression.
According to the definition, depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent sadness and loss of interest.
From my experience, depression is a sign that your mind is stuck somewhere in the past.
I have experienced both anxiety and depression since childhood due to an unhealthy living environment, and they got severe when I divorced my ex-wife. They got so intense that it was hard for me to pick up my child from school.
I know that if you are battling both these demons, your quality of life is not the best, you have a hard time functioning sometimes, and the people you keep inviting into your life make things worse. Subconsciously, you choose the wrong people to come into your life because you feel unworthy of having better interactions and relationships. So you feel stuck, and that is significantly frustrating.
Answers.
First, I want to tell you that you are not stuck and that you are not alone. The fact that you are looking for answers and the fact that you are reading this post are clear signs that you are on your way to beating those two impostors.
And second, social media and the society we are living in are promoting an always happy way of life, but that is unrealistic. No human living today is always delighted or even pleased with his life. Happiness is a fleeting thing and should not be a target for you. Fulfillment and joy, on the other hand, can and should be, and if you also find happiness along the way, that is great.
I also want to share with you, from experience, that anxiety and depression are natural indicators that you are not where you should or could be in your life. They try to tell you that you could be so much more and that you should aspire and work to be much more than you already are.
Hacks.
Make your bed in the morning and keep your house clean. Yes, you heard me. It does not matter what kind of day you had. Coming home to a clean house and a made bed is always better.
Walk daily for a minimum of 30 minutes. Only some people want a six-pack, so maybe going to the gym is not for you, but walking has many benefits (search on google for health benefits of walking ). I recommend walking in nature or a park, but if you don’t have access to something like that, then around the block is perfect.
Pray every morning and every evening. Sit in a comfortable chair with your back straight, put your palms together, and say for a minimum of fifteen minutes, ‘Thank you, God.’ The act of placing your palms together brings to your attention the meeting of the two distinct halves of your being; the right side of the body with the left, the physical body with the energy body, the masculine aspect of you with the feminine aspect and the right brain with the left brain.
Take a magnesium supplement. Different studies found that 500 mg of magnesium daily improves digestion and sleeping and alleviates depression and anxiety, among other benefits. Of course, like with all supplements, you should see a doctor, but from my experience, it works perfectly.
Keep yourself hidratated. You should drink a minimum of two litter of water every day.
Do these things, and I promise you that you will be a different person in two weeks. You won’t even recognize yourself.
I am proud of you and wish you all the best, beautiful human.
Yours truly, Cristian.
