Whatever you are chasing, if it is good and meaningful, you will be tested.
Traps will be set for you up, down, left, right and center.
Frustration and loneliness are going to try and crush you at every step.
It may seem like life, the universe, and God Himself are plotting against you to convince you to stop chasing your dreams and fall back in line and mediocrity.
With tears in your eyes, you will yell at the skies like a crazy person: – why won’t you just let me make it?
I am tired of the desert; I am tired of trials, rejection, and humiliation – you’ll say.
The bad news is that it is never going to stop.
You will have green pastures from time to time and smooth walking, but soon enough, a climb will arise in front of you, and you’ll feel again like you’re pushing an existential rock uphill while carrying the weight and the pain of the whole world on your shoulders.
The good news is that at one point, you’ll realize that nothing happens to you but for you.
Everything is happening because, at one point, you’ll need to get over yourself.
At one point, you’ll need to learn to follow your intuition, not your intellect.
At some point, you’ll need to learn to spend time with people based on how they make you feel, not on how they make you look.
At one point, you need to understand that meaning comes before status.
At one point, you must stop looking left and right at what Sandy and Michael are doing.
At one point, your yes will be yes, and your no will be no.
At that point, you’ll quit one thousand times every day – spiritually, physically, mentally – but you will wake up the next day and move forward.
At one point, you will wake up in the morning, get out of bed, and start going at it again before you even ask yourself how you feel.
You will do it exhausted, frustrated, crying, clumsy. You won’t care anymore; you’ll just do it.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Blood, Sweat, and Tears will be the moisturizer you will use to build the bricks necessary to rebuild your life out of the dirt surrounding you.
And you will do it.
Against all odds and against all reason.
Don’t stop.
Quit, but don’t stop.
Not today.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
