Dating … Man, is it rough out here, or what?
Sometimes, it feels like walking through a minefield.
Wherever you walk, something goes off.
A walking red flag is searching for another red flag.
From my experience as a 38-year-old divorced man, I can genuinely say that dating at my age is the greatest ego killer of all.
But you have to keep going.
It’s a good idea to be alone for a while to reflect, find yourself, and direct yourself in the right direction. We all need that.
But loneliness is hard to carry and, after a certain point, unnecessary.
So, in conclusion, I would say we all have one of two options.
We either choose to be alone with our ego or muster up the courage to be rejected and humiliated 500 times before we find our person.
We can’t have it both ways.
And maybe, just maybe, we need those 500 rejections to ultimately get over ourselves and our overinflated egos so we may become calm, grounded, joyful, and happy.
Matthew 7:7: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Ask until it will be given to you – when you’ll be ready, you’ll get it.
Seek until you find what you are searching for.
Knock until the door opens because, eventually, it does.
Remember, every time you get rejected, the only one getting a hit is your fragile ego.
And I don’t know about you, but my ego occasionally needs and deserves a blow. To keep my head from overinflating and my feet safe on the ground.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
