Ernest Hemingway said: “There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
I love this quote because it is simple and complex at the same time, but it is also true.
Comparing yourself to others and competing with others outside of sports events is low-energy and carries a strong odor of fear, as well as “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.”
Wise and strong people don’t compare themselves to anyone because they realize they don’t want to be anyone else. They work on themselves to express the best possible version of themselves.
Wise and strong people know for a fact that the grass is always greener where you water it.
Wise and strong people know that self-expression is the ultimate goal of a human being.
Wise and strong people realize that we only get to live once and for a short time on this earth, and they want to live their mark.
Wise and strong people want to state from the bottom of their being and in the best way possible: “I, me, was here.”
Don’t compare and compete.
Develop and express, and by God’s grace, you may, maybe, inspire and impress.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
