One of the most beautiful things I have discovered on my self-improvement or evolution journey is that you don’t need much most of the time. You are closer than you think.
Let me explain.
I remember, at one point, I was feeling stuck. It felt like no matter what I was reading, how much I meditated, or whatever I was doing in my life to go past a certain point, I could not move. It felt like, for months, I was going in circles and always getting to a point where I was hitting a glass roof that I could just not break. It was very frustrating.
“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready… The teacher will Disappear.” – Tao Te Ching.
Seemingly out of nowhere, this man appeared. We had a few conversations about life, philosophy, and religion. Apparently general but to the point.
Boom!
It happened. It was like he gave me three words that were always there, but the fact that they came out of his mouth and not from my mind changed everything for me. Those three words were like the final three numbers to a seif combination. I was inspired. He inspired me, and a whole new universe opened itself up to me.
One man, three words. And he was gone. Our interaction ended.
I finally understood what Tao Te Ching said. I felt it. I lived it.
I decided right then and there that I wanted to be that person for someone else. I want to be that person for as many as I can. And I also understood that I had to take on the responsibility and the discipline to continue to work on myself daily to reach and inspire as many people as I can for as long as I live.
You are an example. We all are. Whether we acknowledge it or not. People around us see us. We are not invisible. But what do they see? Are they inspired by us to do what we do, or are they encouraged to never try out what we do? Are we a good example or a bad one?
It is up to us. It is a personal decision. Decide for yourself.
What are you showing us? Are you an example?
If you met your 14-year-old self, would you be inspired by the adult you became? Would you, 14, want to spend more time with the adult you are today?
You don’t need to change, but you can decide to evolve.
Beautiful.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
