After the fear of death, one of our greatest fears is the fear of success. The fear of success is greater than the fear of failure in most of us.
You must teach yourself how to win.
But Cristian, why do I have to learn how to win? Doesn’t that come automatically?
I thought that too. But, no, it does not. You have to teach yourself how to win to stop sabotaging yourself every time you have a big win.
How do we do that?
We do that by winning small every day.
Body.
Take care of your body and its surroundings every day. Wash yourself every day with focus and intention. When you are in the shower, focus on washing your body and treating it with care and respect. Cut your hair with regularity. Keep your nails short and clean. Wash and iron your close. Clean your shoes before you go out of the house. Work out every day. Working out can be walking for an hour and ten pushups. This may not seem much to you, but when you do all these things with focus and intention, you’ll add up daily wins and start to have a different form of respect for yourself. Not to mention that the people around you are going to notice.
Mind.
Be very careful with the content you consume every day. Reading and writing are the best exercises for your mind. Set time aside in your day to read something positive and productive. Write in a journal. Start with at least half an hour. Besides reading, you must tailor your social media accounts to show you only productive, motivational, and inspirational content. Social media platforms are run by algorithms that learn your behavior. Whatever you consume on social media gets filtered, and the algorithms give you more of what you want. Focus on what you consume and like and dislike pictures and videos until you tailor your social media accounts to the degree that the only thing you see when you get on them is positive and constructive. Instead of music, you can listen to podcasts when you commute or at the gym. When you watch a movie, watch it to learn something from the dialogue or action and not just to pass the time. Be very careful with whom you spend your time. We live in the best era ever because we have all the world’s information at our fingertips, but you must learn to filter it to your best interest. Win, win, win!
Soul.
Prayer and meditation. Prayer has many forms. Besides the Jesus prayer, which is short and powerful, the most efficacious prayer is personal prayer. Is the prayer where you set time apart in your day to talk to God. You talking to the force that created the whole universe out of Himself. Beautiful, personal, strong, and very effective. You must pray. If you want to be a complete human being, you must pray. Don’t meditate to empty yourself or your mind. Meditate to fill yourself with God. Meditate on God. What is He to Him? Meditate to listen to Him. Meditate to get closer to Him; your meditation will have purpose and great results.
Win. Win. Win.
Body. Mind. Soul.
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
