A good thing to understand is that the most valuable commodity you and each of us have is not time. It is attention.
Everything around you, good or bad, is after your attention, not your time. Because what gets your attention automatically also gets your time.
Where ever you are, be there.
Some people have a shorter attention span than others. But you can constantly improve no matter how long your attention span is.
The more you can focus on what you are doing, the more you get done in the minute, in the hour, and in the day.
Let me explain.
Suppose you and I read the same book for an hour every day. Our intelligence and perception are similar. If I could focus more on reading that book and the sentences and words that I am reading at the end of that hour, you may have read more pages, but I got more out of the pages that I read because I was more focused.
Does that make sense?
Hard work is the key to success. Yes, it is. Success is a numbers game. The more you do, the more you get. But intelligent, hard work is the key to life.
Focus! Be where you are.
The Jesus prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” – is the best tool I found to improve your focus because when you say it aloud, alone in a peaceful environment, you can focus on every word that comes out of your mouth, on the tone that you are using and the feeling you get throughout your body from saying it.
Practice it for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night with intention, focus, and thank me later. It will completely change you as a human being forever!
Your focus will improve until you feel that you are getting 120 minutes in every hour. Think about what impact that is going to have on your productivity.
Focus!
With love, yours truly, Cristian.
