I came across this quote the other day by Albert Einstein that says: “Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.”
Meditating for a while on the subject, I remembered this Bible verse by the apostle Matthew which says:’It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’
When I put them together, what popped into my mind was: Love and wisdom.
Can Love and Wisdom be counted? Honestly, I do not even know where love and wisdom start. Think about it for a second.
But let me ask you this have you ever seen one without the other? Why are loving people wise and wise people loving? And to go a bit further, what is God, or the Word of God, if not pure love and pure wisdom?
I am not an expert on God or the Bible, and that is obvious, but my image about the being that created the whole Universe from scratch is that He is the source of all wisdom and the purest form of unconditional love that there is. Because if He was not pure love and wisdom, I do not think that we as a species would be here on this beautiful and rich planet that seems to float and rotate in nothingness. I read somewhere that the chance of either of us being born is 1 in 400 trillion (with a t). Have you ever thought about it?
My point is that if not everything that counts can be counted, and we shall not live on bread alone, then love and wisdom must be what we are missing. And if God is pure love and wisdom itself, then maybe with Him is where we should start.
I am not necessarily a religious person, and I would not know what religion to suggest, but I would suggest that you start working on developing a strong, healthy, and beautiful relationship with this Force, Energy, God, or however, you want to call Him because in this entity seems to be the spring of pure love and wisdom.
And, to be honest, what is life without love and wisdom?
Do you think we are here only to consume resources, multiply and die?
I do not think so!
Yours truly, Cristian.
