Religion has always been a topic of intense debate and discussion, evoking strong emotions and passionate beliefs. For some, it is a source of comfort, guidance, and spiritual fulfillment; for others, it is an outdated relic of a bygone era, a source of conflict and oppression.
The purpose of religion is not, nor should it be, religion itself. Going to church does not make you a Christian or a believer, just like sitting in the garage does not make you a car.
Matthew 6; 5 to 8, “And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. Because standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the wide roads, they love to pray so that they may make an appearance to people. Truly I say to you, they are receiving their reward in full. But whenever you pray, enter into your inner-room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father, the One, in secret. And your Father, the One seeing in secret, will reward you. And while praying, do not babble as the Gentiles do. They think they will be heard using their many words. So do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
Organized religion is a good thing, don’t get me wrong, as long as it guides you on your path to God. Religion can inspire and uplift, provide hope and solace in times of hardship and adversity, and foster a sense of community and connection with others. However, it should be practiced as a means to an end and that end is God.
At its core, the purpose of religion is to provide a framework for understanding the nature of reality, our place in the universe, and the meaning and purpose of our existence. In addition, it offers a set of beliefs, practices, and values that provide a sense of identity, belonging, and moral guidance.
The purpose of religion and life is to meet God and create a beautiful, healthy, personal, and lasting relationship with Him. He made us for Himself to enjoy His Creation for the nanosecond that we walk on this earth.
Remember that the roads are many, but GOD is the destination of life and existence. He always was and always will be.
Yours truly, Cristian.
